IT is hoped an eclectic mix of popular music will draw in the crowds to this year's mayor's ball, which will generate cash for Kemp Hospice and the Wyre Forest branch of the Alzheimer's Society.
When asked whether the ball was open to members of the public, Kidderminster mayor and Wyre Forest District Councillor, Siri Hayward, who chose the beneficiaries, said "oh gosh, yes, the more the merrier".
She said the event would feature live music from the Gary Alcock band, as well as a bucks fizz reception and three-course meal with a carvery.
"Tickets are going quite well - we've sold more than 100," she said.
She said the venue, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary, would be bedecked with candle-lit tables.
More information and tickets for the ball, which starts at around 7.30pm, can be obtained by calling the district council on 01562 732158.
