JOHNNY Coppin is the modern embodiment of a long and noble minstrel tradition.
He tells stories, weaves patchwork quilts of music that echo the fields and woods of his beloved Severn Valley.
Once the tunesmith of late 60s legends Decameron, Johnny has for long been a chronicler of the people and places who live alongside England's longest river. His new album The Winding Stair and Other Songs (Red Sky Records) carries on this great tradition.
Johnny Coppin is on tour with Mike Silver. You can catch him at Areley Kings Village Hall, near Stourport-on-Severn, tonight.
