Take in a drop of The Cure
BLEND together the bands At The Drive In and The Cure and you have the sound of the group Leonard - at least that is what is claimed.
Audiences will be able to find out for themselves this weekend when the band play the city's Marr's Bar in Worcester's Pierpoint Street tomorrow night.
The rock group are attracting some high-profile interest at the moment and should not be too nervous performing in front of an intimate crowd in Worcester as they took to the stage in front of 17,000 people at The Ashton Court Festival last year.
The five-piece band will be going into the studio shortly to continue recording their latest work, with two tracks already in the bag.
And they can be caught at the Marr's Bar at 8pm tomorrow.
Tickets are £4 in advance or £5 on the door.
Get Wreckless
MUSIC fans are guaranteed a night of aural pleasure in Worcester this weekend as the musician Wreckless Eric takes to the stage at the city's Marr's Bar.
The musician signed to Stiff Records in the 70s and made his first record in 1976 and his most recent album last year.
He has toured all over the UK, Europe, America, New Zealand, Australia and later signed to Go! Discs with a group called Captains Of Industry, which included two of the Blockheads of Ian Dury fame before forming the Len Bright Combo.
From that point on, nearly all his records have been home-made and he has also found time to write a book - A Dysfunctional Success.
Doors open for his Marr's Bar gig at 8pm on Sunday, May 1, and tickets are £5 or £7 on the door.
Laughing gear
A BARREL of laughs is guaranteed at Worcester's Marr's Bar next week as the Pierpoint Street venue hosts its monthly comedy night.
A number of yet-to-be-announced comedians will be gracing the stage on Thursday, May 5, in a bid to get audiences reeling with laughter.
Doors open at 8pm and tickets are available from the venue itself or Music City in Worcester, priced £8 in advance or £9 on the door.
Early booking is advised as the shows inevitably sell-out. People can call 01905 613336 for further information.
