THE first film showing at the Artrix has been hailed as a huge success after an impressive turn out.
More than 70 people attended the School Drive venue for the opening screening on Thursday, April 28 when Hollywood blockbuster The Aviator, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Beckinsale, was on show for visitors.
Even thought the start of the film was delayed by a few minutes as the last of the projection equipment was installed, director of the Artrix, Andy Woods, was delighted with the response.
He said: "It was a very good turn out, we will now be planning an extensive film schedule for later in the year as well and hope to show more films."
The next film to be shown at the Artrix will be Vera Drake for three nights from Thursday, May 19.
