A NOSTALGIC look at life in Brum in the 1950s can be enjoyed with the return of the phenomenally successful Go and Play Up Your Own End at Birmingham's Alexandra Theatre later this month.
And tickets are selling so well, three additional dates have been added to the forthcoming run.
Starring Jasper Carrott, Don Maclean, Malcolm Stent and Lizzie Wiggins, together with West End musical star Dave Willetts, the show features "a wealth of characters in a touching story of friendship, occasional conflict and real Brummie warmth".
Producer Ian Sandy is delighted Dave Willetts, star of Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables, takes on the part of Bert Stent. He said: "We are absolutely thrilled one of the country's leading actors is joining the cast of this great Birmingham-made musical.
"We hope that Go and Play Up Your Own End will do for Birmingham what Blood Brothers did for Liverpool."
This year's show features some new songs by Harvey Andrews, with new sets and costumes and a multimedia installation and there will also be an appearance by an original 1950s Jowett Javelin motor car.
The show plays from Tuesday, May 24, until Wednesday, June 1, and early booking is advisable.
Performances take place evenings at 7.15pm with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2pm. Tickets, priced £17-£22.50 are available on 0870 607 7544.
