THIS was a brave effort at a difficult and complex play involving characters on the edge of reason.

It centred on two dysfunctional young urban Americans, one (Glen Andrews) a violent mugger, his brother (Craig Rogers) a nervous, isolated semi-child, whose lives are invaded by a mysterious stranger (David Danson).

Unfortunately, the performances of the two brothers were too shallow to truly engage the audience, and though Mr Danson managed to create an air of mystery around his character, the problem was, untimately, that the writer, Lyle Kessler, had given us no-one to care about.

Forming a new theatre company is a courageous step and it is to be hoped that Rockvalley Theatre Company will go on and prosper, but with a better choice of script.
