WE read with interest the article on Cropthorne Walkabout (Evesham, Journal, May 5), particularly noting the claim, made by Mr Mumford that their Walkabout was the first open garden event in the area.
We feel that in the interest of historical accuracy we must point out that Fladbury had its first Walkabout, with 24 gardens open and other events as well, over the weekend July 4 and 5, 1970. This has continued every year since then. This event, organised by the then Rector, the late A C Vial.
