I would like to pay tribute to my father, Ted Annis, for all the hard work he has put in over the last 20 months to organise the magnificent military parade and open air commemorative service in Pershore on Sunday to celebrate the diamond anniversary of VE day.
Anybody who has been involved in organising public events must have a good idea of the hard work and constant pressure there is. Dad has been to every single meeting, despite being quite seriously ill himself and at the time of this paper being printed, he will have undergone major surgery on Wednesday. He'd even scheduled that with the Specialists so that it didn't interfere with his planning or attending Sunday's historic event!
Congratulations Dad - you've managed to pull off one of the biggest events that Pershore has ever seen and I am so proud of you. Hopefully, you'll have some rest now before we start again for the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar!
Mrs Trudy Burge, Church Street, Pershore.
