CONCERTS in Rural Churches is another series of musical events taking advantage of the great settings and acoustics in local churches, this time in the Shipston area, arranged by a non-profit making committee.

The second event in the series is coming up on Saturday, May 21 at St Lawrence's Church in Oxhill.

Starting at 7.30pm, guitarist Morgan Szymanski will be giving the concert - a performer experts predict is destined for great things.

Armonico Consort is performing Songs of Angels in St Edmund's Church, Shipston, as part of the Shipston Proms on Saturday, June 25.

Students and tutors from the Stratford Flute Festival will be at St Gregory's Church in Tredington on Saturday, July 30 and the winners of the 1999 Thames Valley Young Musicians Platform will be giving a saxophone and keyboard concert in Halford on Saturday, September 10.

On Saturday, October 1, the Bones Apart Trombone Quarter is in Alderminster and Shipston Town Band is giving a concert in Long Compton on Saturday, October 22 as part of the Stratford Music Festival.

All the concerts start at 7.30pm and cost £8 (£6 concessions), with accompanied children free.
