STARS of The Unexpected Man, coming soon to Malvern Theatres, will raise funds for charity when they meet audiences in Colwall.

Peter Bowles and Sian Phillips will attend a charity lunch at the Colwall Park Hotel, on Friday, June 3.

The event includes a two-course lunch and a chance to talk to special guests about their exceptional careers.

Tickets are £35 and proceeds go to the Malvern Theatres Trust.

Peter Bowles is best known for his roles in television's To the Manor Born, with Penelope Keith, and The Irish RM. Sian Phillips memorably appeared in I, Claudius and was last in Malvern in Pam Gems' play Marlene, for which she received Olivier, Tony and Drama Desk nominations.

The Unexpected Man, by Yazmina Reza, runs from May 30 to June 4.

Two strangers sit opposite each other on a journey from Paris to Frankfurt. Paul Parsky is a successful but cynical writer. Martha, an attractive widow, is a passionate admirer of his work and recognises the author.

Though neither speaks to each other, their thoughts pour out in monologues about life, love, art and fiction.

Performances are at 8pm with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm. Tickets for both events are available on 01684 892277.
