THE prospective season of top quality musical recitals offered by the Evesham and District Music Club gets under way next week.
It starts with the annual meeting and Mid-Summer Party at the Public Hall, Evesham, on Mid-Summer Day, Friday, June 24, at 7.30pm.
As last year, entertainment will be provided by Chamber 5, an enthusiastic, young and talented group from Birmingham, who delighted the audience then.
A charge of £5 a couple will be made to help cover expenses.
"We have a season of top class musical entertainment programmed," said chairman John Child.
"There is no substitute for the unique sound of live music and so we hope a lot of people will come along and enjoy it."
The season starts on Friday, October 7, at the Arts Centre, Evesham, with the London Mozart Trio, followed on Friday, November 11, by the ever-popular Emma Johnson, the clarinettist, with John Leneham as accompanist.
On Friday, December 9, the Dante Quartet visit Evesham, and on Friday, January 18, 2006 when Rebecca Jones, violist, plays a popular programme with Abigail Richards as accompanist.
The final concert at the Arts Centre is on Friday, February 24, 2006 featuring the world renowned Chilingirian Quartet with music by Mozart, Shostakovich and Schumann.
The season ends with an organ recital by Christopher Monckton with a robust concert including the Widor Symphony with the famous Toccata to be held at All Saint's Church, Evesham, on Tuesday, March 28.
