THE count down has begun to this year's popular Hobgoblin Folk Festival.
The event is to take place in the area for the second year running on Sunday July 17.
Birmingham's Custard Factory, in Gibb Square, will be the venue for the festival that will feature free workshops, music sessions, and a free open stage, as well as two main concerts.
Organisers, Hobgoblin Music, opened their Birmingham branch in July 2003, specialising in traditional and acoustic musical instruments. Guests will be able to enjoy Morris Dance displays and the Hobgoblin Music shop will also be open throughout the day.
Visitors wanting to have a go themselves can visit the open stage, which will be going all afternoon.
Confirmed artists for the event include talented five piece Irish band Drowsy Maggie who have been playing traditional folk music for nearly 30 years and The Hobgoblin All Stars, which is made up of staff from the music store. Singer/Songwriter Rob Halligan and guitar and mandolin playing duo Clive Batkin and Joel McDermott will also be on show, as well as highly recommended newcomer Deborah Chapman.
