ART Lovers in the town will now have the chance to view and buy quality artwork after a new gallery opened in Bromsgrove.

The Guild Gallery, in Worcester Road opened yesterday (July 5) and features a mix of originals and limited edition prints.

Artwork for sale is targeted at the home and modern decoration.

The gallery is a member of the Fine Art Guild.

Owner James O'Connor said: "Fine art was now an important part of home dcor and some people chose pictures which complement their colour schemes as well as subjects which they like."

Customers are encouraged to take their time in viewing the pictures on display, all signed by the artists.

Visitors are also invited to call in during this week to see what is on show and to enjoy a glass of wine to celebrate the opening. Artwork is priced individually.

"As householders become increasingly image conscious and are spending more and more on decorating their homes. Hanging a picture can be a statement," said James.

The premises, which were previously occupied by insurance brokers and a cheque-cashing agency, has been refitted with a modern, well-lit interior behind the traditional frontage.
