A FORMER Worcester mayor has been appointed the first ever honorary vice-president of the city’s St Paul’s Hostel.
Councillor Lucy Hodgson raised £10,000 for the hostel for the homeless during her mayoral year.
St Paul’s chairman Robbie Porter said: “Asking Lucy to become vice-president was a natural step for us.
“The committee was very keen to retain her involvement, particularly following her successful year as mayor. This money will be spent on developing clients’ vocational skills and training, which we know is close to Lucy’s heart.
Coun Hodgson said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the work that I did with St Paul’s when I was mayor, particularly meeting staff and clients, so I’m delighted to be asked to stay involved with the hostel, and I’m looking forward to finding new ways of helping support the work that they do.”
