A MAN was left trapped in the wreckage of a small van for about an hour after it crashed into a mobile crane in Herefordshire.
The smash happened at the junction of the A49 and B4348 at Llandinabo to the south of Hereford at around 4.45pm yesterday.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The small van had suffered very considerable damage in the collision.
“It left the driver, a man estimated to be in his 50s severely trapped.
“Ambulance staff worked with firefighters to remove him but in all it took approximately an hour.”
Although the man appeared not to have suffered any serious injuries, ambulance staff immobilised him using a neck collar and spinal board and took him to Hereford County Hospital.
The man driving the crane was shaken but unhurt.
