NEARLY half of single parents in Worcestershire would like personal advice on managing money according to a leading charity.

Single parent charity, Gingerbread, has teamed up with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to produce a free personal money guide.

Forty-two per cent of single parents would like personal advice on budgeting and managing money, following a survey.

The West Midlands region currently has 177,635 single parents, which is nine per cent of the total UK figure, yet only eight per cent of those in the region receive any form of personal money guidance.

A third of single parents normally receive a weekly household income of £200 or less.

The guide, produced by RBS and Gingerbread, which is free to single parents, Money Sense for Single Parents, is packed with tips on making the most of a low income and includes a section of single parents own top budgeting top tips.

The guide is available from Gingerbread’s free Single Parent Helpline on 0808 802 0925 or at gingerbread.org.uk
