WORCESTER insurance brokers Sutcliffe & Co has welcomed Stewart Glazzard, a well-known local businessman to the company at a senior level.
Mr Glazzard joins Sutcliffes after working for another Worcestershire broker, Cox Hepburn, for more than 20 years.
The move follows a series of takeovers of local brokers by national companies, with Cox Hepburn being bought by Layton Blackham then Bluefin and another Worcester-based broker, Clarke Roxburgh, being bought by Jelf.
Sutcliffe & Co director Duncan Sutcliffe said: “We are delighted to welcome Stewart into the fold. He’s a very well known locally and has a phenomenal reputation for helping local businesses with their insurance needs. As for what may be happening to other brokers locally, we remain entirely focused on doing what we do best – providing our clients with excellent service and quality insurance policies.
“We have always been the kind of company that takes the same amount of care of all our clients, regardless of size.”
Mr Glazzard added: “Too often these days, personal service is lost in anonymous call centres.
“Sutcliffe & Co, by contrast, is a fourth generation family broker, which has no call centres and is proud to offer the kind of personalised service which really makes a difference to local people and businesses.”
