A FASHION show featuring a group of women who dieted to lose more than 50 stone between them, raised more than £4,000 for charity.
The women were invited to House of Fraser in Crown-Gate Shopping Centre, Wor-cester, to receive a cheque for £4,087, which they raised for the British Heart Foundation through the fashion show in April at the Bank House Hotel, Bransford.
Organised by WeightWat-chers and House of Fraser, the show featured models from WeightWatchers, who showcased work wear, casual wear, holiday and party wear to an audience of 350 people.
Jess Armstrong, a student designer from Bromsgrove, also demonstrated her fashion creations that were made from recycled materials.
The success of the fashion show has inspired Claire Muddiman, who lost more than five stone through the programme, to launch a course of weekly WeightWat-chers’ meetings in House of Fraser, starting on Sunday, January 3, at noon. The meetings will offer weight loss advice along with motivation and group support.
Caryl Davies, of House of Fraser, said: “The show was a tremendous success and it was a real pleasure to welcome the WeightWatchers’ ladies back into the store to receive the cheque, which is going to a very good cause.
“We are also delighted to be hosting Clair and her regular weight loss classes, which we are sure will be a great support for people hoping to lose some weight and start a new, healthier lifestyle in the new year.”
