A SCHOOL in Worcester has helped make a calendar by drawing pictures illustrating how to keep fit and healthy.
The Spire South Bank Hospital on Bath Road has joined up with children from the Perdiswell Primary School on Bilford Road to create a calendar for 2010.
The hospital invited children to submit drawings on the theme of staying fit and healthy throughout the year to illustrate their official calendar.
Part of the incentive behind the art initiative was to encourage children to think about what it means to be fit and healthy and how they would represent this in artwork.
Drawings were chosen to represent a range of activities and have been used to produce striking A4 and A5 format calendars for Spire South Bank Hospital for distribution to GPs and other health professionals throughout the Worcestershire area.
In addition, Spire produced and donated 500 calendars to the school to sell for school funds.
Ben Nicholson, hospital director at Spire South Bank Hospital, said: “It has been an enjoyable and very worthwhile project for us.
“It has helped us to build links with the local community, as well as impart a message to younger children about what it means to be fit and healthy.”
