A THEATRE production of Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street is being held at a Worcester college.
The Worcester Sixth Form College’s Theatre Company will be hosting the performance of the popular musical from tomorrow until Friday this week.
Forty-five college students who are part of the WSFC Theatre Company are working hard rehearsing the gothic-horror play which is a follow on from the success of West Side Story and Guys & Dolls.
Director Gary Frost said: “We have a very talented group of performers and musicians who are doing exceptionally well thanks to new musical director Mat Jones and to Dr Richard Pye, who is leading the orchestra.”
The college has just installed a new seating system in the studio theatre, largely funded by the generosity of the Foundation for the Sports and the Arts, and the performers believe this should make the experience for the audience a lot more comfortable while having the closest shave of their life!
Tickets cost £6 for adults, £3 for concessions. They are available in person from student reception at the college.
