A TRIP to a fast-food restaurant has cost a man his licence and £800.
Daniel Knight found out he was losing his job, so he drowned his sorrows in a pub before driving to the McDonalds in Evesham.
Staff at the branch were concerned about how drunk he was so called the police, but as they arrived Knight was leaving through the carpark’s entrance, Worcester Magistrates Court was told.
Police then watched Knight drive on the wrong side of the road, before crossing the central reservation.
After chasing him some way, Knight finally stopped at the carpark of the Dogs’ Trust in Wickhamford - by driving in through the exit.
The 26-year-old, of Kineton, Warwick, who was found to be over the limit, was fined a total of £800 and banned from driving for 24 months.
