A TALENTED Worcester teenager is hoping to be crowned Young Fashion Photographer of 2009.
Emily Adams reached the finals of the prestigious competition, part of the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham, after taking a stunning shot of models near the canal in Worcester’s Arboretum. The competition brief was to show the history of the city you live in, incorporating modern fashion.
Worcester College of Technology student Emily chose the urban location along the historic Worcester to Birmingham canal and then styled the entire shoot herself, selecting the models, the clothing and accessories.
The 17-year-old, of Berkeley Haywood, Warndon Villages, Worcester, will now go to the Clothes Show Live at the NEC today to stand on a catwalk in front of 6,500 people as the judges deliberate and chose the winner.
“I couldn’t believe it when I received the e-mail back so say I was in with a chance of winning. This is something I have always enjoyed and I hope to go on and become professional,” said Emily, who works part time at the high fashion boutique Stripes in Foregate Street, Worcester. “It was important to focus on the contrast and selective colouring to make the picture more dramatic”. If she wins, Emily will receive £2,000 prize money and a one-week placement with a top photographer.
