A TALENTED musician died in a huge motorway smash after he fell asleep at the wheel and hit the back of a lorry.
Alessio Adorisio was driving home from a talent competition in Birmingham when he crashed his Alfa Romeo Spider on the M5.
An autopsy revealed the 23-year-old, of Vincent Road, Worcester, died of head injuries and had not used drugs or alcohol before his death.
A coroner's court heard today how Mr Adorisio was tired after the performance on Tuesday, June 9.
His car drifted from the fast lane into the slow lane, hit the back of the lorry, then smashed into the central reservation before coming to rest on the hard shoulder close to the southbound sliproad for J6 (Worcester).
A witness estimated that he had been doing around 90mph at the time of the first impact.
He was pronounced dead at Worcestershire Royal Hospital on Wednesday, June 10, after his life support machine was switched off.
Worcestershire coroner Geraint Williams recorded a verdict of accidental death at the coroner's court in Stourport-on-Severn.
