THOUSANDS of people lined the streets of Worcester today to welcome home the city's troops.
The city centre came to a standstill as men from 2nd Battalion the Mercian Regiment (Worcesters and Foresters) paraded through Worcester following their tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Before the parade there was a poignant service in the cathedral during which the five Mercians who lost their lives in Helmand Province, including Private Jason Williams from Worcester, were remembered.
