GENEROUS schoolchildren have spared a thought for those who will not have a Christmas this year.
Children, staff and parents at the Riversides School in Thorneloe Road, Worcester, chose Operation Christmas Child as one of its charities to support this term.
Over the last few weeks the school has been collecting a variety of different items to put into shoe boxes to send to children in other parts of the world who will not have a Christmas.
On Wednesday, November 18, most of the school was involved in packing the boxes and making them look festive, and a few days later the boxes were taken to the Operation Christmas Child depot in Shrub Hill.
A school spokesman said: “The pupils got to see hundreds of boxes already prepared to go abroad.
“We were pleased to think that Riversides School has given 29 children a happy Christmas this year.”
