OUR president Ruby welcomed us to our annual meeting, thanking the tea ladies and Joan Davies for the lovely pot of chrysanthemums for her table. A new member has joined us and was made welcome.
Mary Lou, WI adviser, was introduced to us to help us through the formalities of the annual meeting.
We were pleasantly reminded of all our activities in our secretary’s report; it seems we do enjoy our food as well as fun and friendship.
Last month our demonstrator gave us a tasting experience and the lunch club enjoyed their meal at Ruby’s in Bransford Road.
After the president’s report, Mary Lou took us through the voting and Kay Newman was elected unanimously as our new president. A bouquet of flowers from the members was presented to our retiring president, Ruby.
Mary Lou then gave us updates on the new system for choosing the resolutions and pointed out her sales table, which is beside our own sales table.
The craft meeting was in St John’s Church meeting room and we were shown by Dorothy Wheatley a lovely mat, which will be made.
The book club will be at Sue’s home as usual and all money for the Christmas lunch has been collected. Members were reminded that this would be earlier than our usual meeting day. We then had a special tea with delicious tiny fancy cakes.
