A venture to provide networking and development opportunities for the future business leaders of Hereford and Worcester has been launched by the Institute of Directors (IOD), the Chamber of Commerce and the University of Worcester.
The Young Directors Forum is a national initiative within the IOD aimed at younger members already in director or senior manager roles in successful organisations. Kathy Leather, commercial director of Worcester Warriors and Worcestershire Woman of the Year was the keynote speaker at the launch at Worcester Rugby Club, at which she recounted some of her stories about working in rugby. An opportunity for networking followed the launch. A committee consisting of representatives of industry, the professions and other businesses will now organise a number of events throughout the year. These will range from informal meet and greet sessions to lectures and tours of business premises and facilities.
“This is the first step in creating a forum for the future business leaders of the region, said Paul Spires, chairman of the YDF. “Through increased knowledge sharing and better networking the forum will greatly contribute to the future success of Hereford and Worcester.”
