THE Queen has written to a member of the Hereford Police Male choir to say how pleased she was to receive a copy of their CD.
Brian Williams, the choir’s secretary, gave the Queen a copy of their Still Standing CD when he visited Buckingham Palace to receive an MBE.
Mr Williams said: “While I was talking to Her Majesty I left our latest CD.
“That was on the Tuesday.
“On the Friday I received the letter back from her.
“It was amazing really.”
Mr Williams said the letter conveyed the Queen’s “sincere thanks” and said how pleased she was with the CD.
Mr Williams said: “I took it with me because I heard that she enjoyed music with a difference. She was so nice. There’s no other word for it.
“She was charming.”
The choir recorded the CD after appearing on TV’s Last Choir Standing.
They have since received dozens of invitations to sing at venues in Britain and abroad.
