TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a crash at a renowned accident blackspot near Worcester.

A man travelling as a rear seat passenger in a Ford Ka suffered life-threatening injuries when it crashed on the Bransford to Worcester Road, (A4103) near the Fox Inn, at about 3.20am this morning.

Fire fighters cut the injured man free from the blue car before he was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

He was later transferred to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry where he is said to be ‘critical’.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the crash or the vehicle being driven earlier. They can be contacted on 0300 333 3000, quoting 38S/251109.

The two arrested men were both taken to Worcester Police Station, one after receiving treatment at Worcestershire Royal Hospital for minor injuries.

The A4103 has claimed a number of lives over the past few years.

Teenagers Timothy Evans and Ashley Attwood, of Hereford were killed following a crash in August 2007 which happened right outside the Fox Inn.

Dad-of-one Paul Iredale, from Worcester died after his car hit a tree in November 2007.

Rev Ian Scott, from Droitwich, was killed following a crash with another car in July.
