PEOPLE can get into the Christmas spirit at Worcestershire’s County Museum.
There are all sorts of activities at the museum, which is set in the grounds of historic Hartlebury Castle, near Stourport. Children can get a gift from Father Christmas in his sitting room, and there will be horse-drawn carriage rides around the castle’s picturesque carriage circle.
Children’s craft activities, such as making Christmas cards or writing letters to Santa, will also keep the little ones entertained.
Adults can take time to browse the gift and craft stalls in the Great Hall, which will be decorated for Christmas, and the whole family will enjoy the changing programme of entertainment that includes music, puppet shows and face painting. Local choirs, including the Kidderminster Valentines, will be entertaining visitors.
Seasonal gifts and unique stocking fillers will be on sale in the museum shop, which also sells hand-made contemporary crafts from the Worcestershire Guild of Designer Craftsmen.
The events are on Saturday, December 5; Sunday, December 6; Saturday, December 12, and Sunday, December 13.
Admission to the museum cost £4 adults, £2 children and concessions, and £10 for a family ticket (two adults and two children). Gifts from Father Christmas cost £3.50. For more details, call the museum on 01299 250416.
