TWO men were assaulted at The Butts, Worcester, in the early hours of this morning.

The incident took place near to Images nightclub at around 3.20am as the two men and a third friend were walking home from a night out in the city.

A group of three men and two women was walking ahead of them and one of the men turned around and started verbally abusing the three men.

He then punched two of them before the whole offending group left in a small silver/grey vehicle from The Butts car park.

All five were described as being in their late teens/early twenties and the two females had dark hair.

PC Dee Stanley said: “This is an apparent unprovoked attack in which the victims were left extremely shaken.

“We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the assault itself or the small silver/grey car leave the scene.

“One of the victims flagged down a taxi driver who was asked to call the police.

“We would ask that taxi driver to make contact as well as a group of people who were nearby at the time.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0300 333 3000, quoting 48/S/241109, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
