THE X Factor twins John and Edward are on their way to Worcester.

More than 14 million people tuned into the ITV talent show on Sunday to watch Jedward crash out of the competition.

Now John and Edward Grimes, love them or hate them, are set to perform at Tramps nightclub on Monday, November 30.

The 18-year-olds have attracted huge publicity in recent weeks. And while critics have described the double act as notoriously talentless and utterly tone-deaf, the British public has continued to support them.

Dean Hill, manager of Tramps in Angel Place, is expecting more than 1,000 people to come and see them in Worcester.

He said: “We’ve already sold out of our VIP meet and greet tickets.

“They all went within an hour on Sunday night.”

Tramps has signed a lucrative deal for all of the X Factor contestants – excluding the final three – to perform in the city as they exit the show. So far, Worcester fans have welcomed ex-strippers Kandi Rain, Scottish singer Rikki Loney, and Welsh starlet Lucie Jones.

Last night would-be rocker Jamie Archer was due to play live to hundreds of people.

The 100 people who bought VIP tickets to see Jedward next week will not only watch the duo perform live on stage, but meet them in person afterwards.

“It’s the biggest thing we’ve ever been part of,” said Mr Hill, who has worked at the city centre nightspot for 19 years.

“It has meant that more people are coming to Tramps; people who have not been to nightclubs for years. We’re getting a real cross section of people. We’ve got plenty of students, but some older people as well.

“It’s really raising the profile of the whole city.”

John and Edward have faced a torrent of bad press.

While Judge Simon Cowell said that he would flee the country if they won, various hate campaigns have appeared on social networking websites such as Facebook.

Mr Hill said he had no security fears over the youngsters’ Worcester appearance.

“There might be some booing, but we’ve got no worries with regard to security,” said Mr Hill.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: “We are aware of the event next Monday and that X Factor contestants have visited Tramps on previous Mondays.

“To date there have been no policing issues with these events. Like all other events in Worcester West Mercia Police will continue to monitor the situation and our policing will be subject to any information and intelligence we may receive.”
