A CHARITY shop is offering to collect bags of unwanted goods from your doorstep.

Staff from the YMCA store are travelling around Worcester visiting schools, businesses and organisations to pick up donations.

Dozens of people have already taken part in the D-Day scheme. The YMCA van went to St Mary’s Convent, Battenhall to collects bags of items donated by students and staff.

Karen McCarthy, manager of the YMCA charity shop in Cathedral Plaza, Worcester, said: “D-Day stands for Donation Day. If you’ve got a bag full of unwanted goods or a particularly big item it can be difficult to take it into the shop themselves. This way employees can take items to work and the YMCA will pick them up for free. We want to make it easier for people to donate. It’s also a chance for them to have a good clear-out.”

To request the YMCA van at your place of work, school or community centre call the shop on 01905 731159.
