WORCESTER’S Sea and Army cadets are moving to a brand new, purpose built premises behind the Lea & Perrins sauce factory.
To welcome them to the community, and to coincide with National Interfaith week, local churches, the mosque, and schools in the area have organised a community party at 6.30pm this evening.
All members of the community are invited to attend, especially schools, Brownies and Guides, Cubs and Scouts.
There will be displays about the cadets, food and a visit by a professional basket ball player.
The Revd Duncan Ballard, chairman of the Interfaith group and vicar of St Mark’s in Cherry Orchard church, said: “We are delighted to have this fun opportunity to invite the whole community in to celebrate the cadets’ move. I hope that everyone who comes, has a really good time and goes home having made a new friend in their community.”
The party has been made possible by a grant from Worcester City Council and the Worcester Diocese.
National Inter Faith Week runs until tomorrow.
