A VAN driver was airlifted to hospital after a crash on the main road between Worcester and Leominster
The crash, which also involved an articulated lorry, happened on the A44 at Knightwick at 2.20pm, between the B4197 and the junction for Whitbourne.
Paramedics and two fire crews from Bromyard attended.
The male van driver, who is in his 30s, was put on a spinal board and airlifted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with chest injuries.
A spokeswoman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said crews had freed the man from the van wreckage, after arriving to find him trapped.
The A44 road was still shut at 6.15pm.
The lorry driver was unhurt.
