A 23-year-old man carried out a robbery when he was abusing alcohol, Worcester Crown Court heard.
Caleb Walker, of The Council Houses, Alyton, Ledbury, pleaded guilty to robbing Arthur Bryant of a wallet and cash on Wednesday, August 12.
He also admitted perverting the course of justice by providing police with a false name and address, which resulted in another driver getting two fixed penalty notices.
Walker further pleaded guilty to driving at Ross-on-Wye while banned and without insurance.
Adam Western, defending, said the robbery was out-of-character and happened due to drink.
Walker had already paid back £200 to the victim and he hoped to pay back the outstanding £140.
Judge John Cavell remanded Walker in custody while a pre-sentence report is prepared.
