PEOPLE in Worcestershire are going all out to raise funds for this year’s Children in Need appeal.
The charity aims to help disadvantaged children and young people in Britain and relies on proceeds given by the public. These are some of the local events which will take place tomorrow.
Regency High School, Warndon, Worcester, is running a number of exciting activities throughout the day, including monster aerobics, non-uniform day, Pudsey bingo, cake sale and pavement art.
Boots Chemist, Enigma Retail Park, Malvern is holding a teddy bear hunt and raffle throughout the day and two male members of staff will be having a sponsored leg wax.
Royal Grammar School, Upper Tything, Worcester, is having a non-uniform day, as well as a bake sale and a number of netball tournaments throughout the day. Pershore Seafoods, Pershore Retail Market, will be raising funds by guessing the weight of ‘Harry the Halibut’. Donations of £1 per guess can be made, and the winner will receive a £20 voucher to spend on produce.
Jo Jingles, Amphlett House, Droitwich, is holding a week-long sing and dance along for parents and children. The theme for the sponsored event is bugs.
Children at Norton pre-school, Littleworth, near Worcester, will be wearing fancy dress and selling homemade decorated cakes to raise money for the charity.
St Mary's school and kindergarten, Worcester, will be raising money by holding a variety of events throughout the day.
Leapfrog Day Nursery, Blackpole, Worcester is having a teddy bears’ picnic, with the children wearing their pyjamas to raise money for Children in Need.
On Saturday, The Marrs Bar, Pierpont Street, Worcester, is hosting the sixth annual Punk 4 Pudsey gig with a large line-up of punk and alternative bands all performing live, including the German band No Opinion. Doors open at 2pm with a minimum £5 donation on the door.
