HUNDREDS of people turned up to see Lucie Jones bring her star quality to Worcester.
The 18-year-old X Factor contestant, who was voted off the ITV show 10 days ago, performed live at Tramps nightclub on Monday.
It has been a whirlwind ride for the 18-year-old singer, who has gone from a small town in Wales to performing regularly in front of millions on television, but she is taking it in her stride and hoping her boundless enthusiasm will keep the ball rolling.
Talking to your Worces-ter News before going on stage on Monday, she said: “Last Sunday when I got kicked off the show I was just gutted. It was an overwhelming feeling of ‘Oh no, it’s ended’. But then I was speaking to Dannii (Minogue) and Brian Freedman, who were saying to me just look at how amazing this has been, and I looked at it in that way.
“I got up on Monday morning and went on with my life.
“I couldn’t have asked for anything more.”
Tramps has struck a deal for all of the X Factor contestants to play live in the city as they are voted off.
Student Lucie, of Pent-yrch, near Cardiff, attracted the biggest crowd yet.
On the X Factor she was mentored by Dannii Min-ogue and performed songs including One Moment in Time and Funny Valen-tine. In Worcester she sang Katy Perry’s Hot and Cold, Disney song This Is Me and, just in time for the festive season, a version of All I Want For Christmas.
Jamie Archer will be the next X Factor contestant to perform live in Worcester after he was voted off the show on Sunday.
He will be at Tramps on Monday.
