ONLINE bullying will be a hot topic at a Worcester school this week.

As part of anti-bullying week, children, parents and staff at the Nunnery Wood High School will have a talk from an employee of computer giant Microsoft to tell them about the dangers of cyberspace and internet safety.

Deputy headteacher Jill Dillon said: “At Nunnery Wood High School we believe that every child has the right to enjoy their education in an environment that is safe and nurturing.

Any kind of bullying can cause misery to the victim.

Bullying destroys self-confidence and can ruin lives.

“During Anti-Bullying Week in November every child at this school will engage in a variety of activities aimed at raising awareness of what constitutes bullying, the consequences of bullying, cyber bullying and how to keep safe in cyberspace.

“After the programme of activities, every student will be asked to sign up to the Anti-Bullying Charter which will be displayed in each form room and serve as a daily reminder of our community’s commitment to zero-tolerance of any kind of bullying.

“We are determined to do all we can to eliminate bullying at the school and were delighted to be involved in Worcestershire’s new anti bullying recording and reporting system.”
