A VILLAGE primary school has become the first in Worcestershire to achieve the Leading Parent Partnership Award.
C l i f t o n - u p o n - T e m e Primary School, near Worcester, received the award as part of a national scheme being piloted in Worcestershire to help parents become more involved with their children’s school.
Debbie Mitchell, headteacher of Clifton-upon- Teme primary, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be the first school in Worcestershire to receive this important award – a commitment to working closely with parents and the community has always been a central part of our values at Clifton and the award has provided us with a structured approach to evaluating our practice.”
The award audits the school’s parental engagement, identifying areas for improvement, with pilot schools becoming ambassadors across the county.
The award normally takes 12 to 15 months to achieve, but Clifton has taken just eight months to reach the required level.
The Leading Parent Partnership Award pilot scheme is taking place across the county, encompassing a range of 39 schools from rural to urban, first to secondary.
