ALMOST 30 Christmas cakes have been baked and decorated for charity by a group of women from Worcestershire.
The annual bake provided by the Wychavon branch of the Sugarcraft Guild is to raise funds for Worcester’s St Richard’s Hospice, which cares for people with terminal illnesses.
Tricia Cavell, St Richard’s fund-raising manager, said: “These cakes are a work of art and look too good to eat.”
The donated cakes have been given to be auctioned, sold or raffled to raise funds for the charity, which is celebrating its 25th silver anniversary.
Ann Newton, who chairs the group, said: “Our ladies really pulled out the stops this year.
“We really enjoy making these for the hospice and love to see them generating money for a wonderful cause.”
St Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
The donations made to the charity help to make providing this care possible.
The charity needs £4.8 million a year to continue its work.
