LATER this month people in Greater Manchester will be able to carry an biometric national ID card, holding vital information about themselves.
The Government says the card will help young people in bars or clubs and will make it easier to pick something up from the Post Office.
Opposers, however, have said for some time that cards of this nature will be a breach of civil liberties and leave the possibility of identity crime wide open.
Supporters say that those who have done nothing wrong will have nothing to fear.
The new card will cost £30 for those who wish to have one, but would you pay for such a thing?
What about if the cards were free?
