MORE than 250 Worcester people filed for insolvency last year and the figure looks set to rise, according to experts.
The Debt Advice Foundation has predicted that 2009 will see the highest level of personal insolvencies since records began in the 1960s and many individuals still do not realise the severity of their debt problems.
The charity has now launched an online support service to help those with spiralling money troubles. The service gives people the ability to calculate the true extent of their debt with a ‘debt analyser’ that can be downloaded. David Rodger, managing director of Debt Advice Foundation, said: “This resource is a new way for people to take stock of their situation for the first time.”
