LATE night Christmas shoppers in Evesham will be able to park for free.
The decision by Wychavon District Council follows a plea from the Vale of Evesham Commerce and Tourism Association to grant the concession.
“We really feel that free parking is an essential incentive for the public to come into Evesham to shop and enjoy the facilities in the Market Square this year,” said Louise Bugg, of Birdseye Sports and VECTA committee member.
“Its great that Wychavon have listened and is supporting retailers in their efforts to revitalise Christmas shopping in the town.”
Shops in the town will soon be displaying posters to confirm that they will be open for late night trading on Thursdays December 3, 10 and 17 staff at the Almonry Heritage and Tourism Information Centre have also confirmed that they will be open to welcome visitors to the town.
Plans are also going well to ensure that there are many incentives for the public to visit Evesham this Christmas for some festive late night shopping and entertainment in the Market Square.
