SHOPPERS are being warned about buying stolen goods after theives took £14,000 of items from lorries parked in Worcestershire.

Calvin Klein aftershave and perfume, valued at £8,000, was stolen from a white Renault articulated lorry sometime between 10pm on Monday and 7am on Tuesday.

The lorry was parked at the truck stop in Church Street, Upton-upon-Severn, when the sides were slashed open.

At about the same time - between 6pm on Monday and 4am on Tuesday - pallets loaded with steaks, worth £6,000, were taken from a refrigerated articulated lorry on the Four Pools Industrial Estate, Evesham.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: “There is nothing currently to directly link these two incidents, but it is highly likely that items from both thefts will be offered for sale.

"Anyone at all suspicious about such offers is encouraged to call us as quickly as possible.”

Anyone who believes that they may have been offered some of the stolen items - or who thinks that they may have useful information about the thefts themselves - is urged to call police on 0300 333 3000, quoting 50N/101109 for the Upton incident or 46S/101109 for the Evesham crime.

Information can also be given, anonymously and free-of-charge, to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
