MOTORISTS are being reminded to remove valuables from their vehicles after goods were stolen from cars in Droitwich.
The latest plea from West Mercia Police comes after a mobile phone and a sat-nav were taken from two vehicles parked on drive-ways in Pelham Road, Droitwich.
A £250 Blackberry phone was taken from blue Renault Megane between 1am and 7am on Tuesday, while a £150 sat-nav was snatched from a silver Ford Mondeo between 6pm on Monday and 8.45 on Tuesday.
“The vast majority of these crime occur when valuable, easily-removed equipment is left in vehicles on full view when, for a few seconds care by their owners, they could have been taken out and kept secure," said a police spokesman.
“Whether it is a mobile phone or a sat-nav, a video-player or any other item attractive to opportunist thieves, the message is the same: always take it with you.”
Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the Pelham Road area is urged to call police on on 0300 3333000.
Information can also be given anonymously and free-of-charge to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
