A MAN from Worcester breached the terms of his Anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) by performing a “karate-style” kick to smash someone’s window and using threatening and abusive language at the hospital, a court was told.
Christopher Small was riding a bicycle along Cranham Drive, in Warndon, Worcester, before stopping to fix a broken chain on Friday, August 28.
Worcester Magistrates Court was told how Small was then told by a resident to get away from outside his property.
Small took offence to the comment and went up to the window of the ground floor flat and kicked it, causing it to smash.
Sallie Hewitt, prosecuting, said the incident was witnessed by a neighbour, who was also threatened by Small.
Police were called and after taking statements from the injured parties, Small was arrested and picked out in an ID parade.
The 20-year-old, of Cavendish Street, off Bath Road, was bailed to appear in court on Wednesday, November 4, but he failed to turn up.
In the early hours of Sunday, November 8, Small was seen by police standing outside McDonald’s, in The Cross, Worcester, and was arrested for breaching his bail conditions.
He was taken to Worcester police station where he told officers he had taken 15 ecstasy tablets. Small was taken by police to A&E at Worcestershire Royal Hosptial to be checked out.
The court was told how Small refused to sit down, lunged at one of the officers with his head, spat on the floor and used threatening and abusive language.
Miss Hewitt said: “He was swearing at officers in the public area of the hospital and was abusive to medical staff. Members of the public were disgusted by what was going on.”
Small had been given an Asbo in June which prohibited him from causing harassment, alarm or distress and he was also banned from using foul and abusive language in a public place.
Small pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching his ASBO and admitted causing criminal damage by smashing the window.
Magistrates adjourned the hearing for a full pre-sentence report to be carried out and Small was given conditional bail to reappear on Wednesday, December 2.
