A FESTIVE bonanza of events will be staged thanks to £1,700 of cash left over from a community group.
The Creative Malvern Small Grants Scheme is funding eight groups to help bring some colour to the town over Christmas.
The money has been split up to provide the following: Perfect Circle Theatre Company is putting on street theatre for the switching on of the lights on Saturday, November 28.
Malvern Night Club Action Group will be running festive-themed event for disabled adults.
Barnards Green Traders are hiring stilt walkers to attend their local event on Saturday, December 5.
The same day, Green Frog Pottery is hosting free pottery painting sessions for children at the Barnards Green Christmas event.
The 7th Malvern Scout Group will leading a lantern parade.
Malvern Library will be putting on a magical Christmas storytelling event.
Eek Batik will be running a special Christmas batik workshop for Malvern people at the town’s library.
My Brighter Future children’s club is buying a new sewing machine and material for children and their parents to make Nativity play costumes.
The money was left over following the break-up of Creative Malvern, which voluntarily split.
Manda Graham, a founding member of Creative Malvern, said: “Christmas in Malvern really is going to be bigger and better this year and I wish all the groups the best of luck with their events.”
