FRIENDS of Red Hill Primary School raised about £3,000 at their musical fireworks night on Friday.
The event was organised by friends’ members Pete Pedrick and Warwick Taylor, and included fantastic fireworks set to modern music.
The event, held at the school in London Road, attracted about 1,500 people.
A big screen featured the children performing numbers from the musical Grease for added entertainment.
Money from the magical annual event has boosted the school’s coffers.
Mike Wickens, secretary of the friends’ group, said: “The money we raise increases steadily each year because the turn-out increases. We have raised around £3,000.”
He said that it was the school’s most important fund-raising event of the year.
