THE famous magic whiteboard entrepreneur has visited Worcester’s Sixth Form College.
Neil Westwood from Magic Whiteboard visited the college to talk to a group of 120 A-level business students about his experience of setting up his own business.
Mr Westwood and his wife Laura appeared on Dragons’ Den 18 months ago and managed to secure a £100,000 investment in their business from Theo Paphitis and Deborah Meaden.
Since then the company has expanded rapidly and should achieve profits of more than £1 million this year.
The board is a staticallycharged, re-usable whiteboard that can be stuck on to walls, glass, wood and wallpaper without the need for any drawing pins, tape or glue.
Mr Westwood talked to the sixth form students about how he and Laura came up with the idea of the magic whiteboard and he even gave away some of the secrets behind ‘the den’. The students asked Mr Westwood questions about how to set up your own business and about the problems he experienced.
The talk aimed to broaden the students’ understanding of the work they are covering in the class, which will help them with their exams and coursework. Mr Westwood is planning to visit the Sixth Form College again to help develop the students’ entrepreneurial skills.
